What We Do

2007 Annual Report (Click Here)

The Coalition is dedicated to increasing the availability of quality housing for low- to moderate-income individuals and families in the city of Beverly.

To further that goal, the Coalition will:

  • Acquire, improve, and make available housing at the lowest possible cost to people of limited means.
  • Stimulate the renovation and improvement of properties.
  • Promote neighborhood improvement.

Since its inception, the Coalition has purchased and preserved 91 units of affordable housing.  The Coalition is leveraging $30 million to create 108 units of affordable housing in our community.

The Coalition is developing a 43-unit studio apartment building, Cabot Street Homes, which will replace the Mayflower Motel on Cabot Street in downtown Beverly.   The Coalition, in partnership with the YMCA of the North Shore, is also leading the transformation of the Gloucester Crossing Neighborhood with its 65-unit Holcroft Park Homes development.

The Coalition's 20-member Board of Directors includes community leaders representing government, financial institutions, other nonprofit organizations, churches, social service agencies, and local businesses.
